Syracuse, New York - the land of huge blizzards, great beer, the SU Orangemen, and of course, the great salt mines, has given birth to a rough group of rowdy ramblers, ready at the drop of a shot glass to pick with the best of ’em. Armed with nothing but wood and strings, hoots and hollers, and barrels of inventively re-imagined tunes about drunken outlaws, loose women, and river-riding thrill-seekers, the Salt City Ramblers tackle everything from Del McCoury to Cake. They can be heard all over Central New York, leaving an incurable epidemic of Rambler fever in their wake in such seedy establishments as the Dinosaur Barbecue, the legendary Shifty’s Bar and Grill, The Westcott Theater, and Sterling Stage. They have shared the stage with national talent like Yonder Mountain String Band, Hot Buttered Rum, The Wood Brothers, and the Packway Handle Band.
